The Desperate Life

Desperate Life: the cry of a refugee

by Salai Eagle

I sit under a tree,

stretch my arms and look at the sky.

I see twinkle little stars

A poem echoes in my ear

A poem in my child hood life

I long to see blue sky

I am eager to hear sweet

songs of birds

Why life is dark?

Why the path is full of thorns

Where is mercy and justice?

Days past in a small room

With worries, sadness and cries

A human being yet, a hidden one

A human being yet, a desperate one

Sometimes I prefer to die

But life is not my own

My mom told me..

"Baby you're gonna be a doctor,

you're gonna save others

you gonna help the needy"

But Mom…look at me now

Do you see me…mom..

I am the one who need those

I am the one who need help

Sorry, mom look at my tears and

hear my screaming…

I had never though about it

leaving my place, my dreams and beloved,

I become alien in the other land,

My ability and strength get deem

Having refuged in a wrong place

Where is bright morning

When will the sunshine araise..

and the birds sing...

(Note: Please don't cry when you read this poem, the poet had dropped lots of tear drops while composing it. Please start praying for the desperate refugees in the world)
